  1. Indonesia. japan is also a pacific nation.

  2. Australasia covers Australia, New Zealand, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islans, and Norfolk Island.

This is one of the 4 regions that make up Oceana. The others are:

Melaneasia: Fiji, Indonesia, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu.

Micronesia:Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau.

Polynesia: American Samoa, Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Niue, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Wallis and Futuna.

  3. There are many countries.

If you listen to news in one part of the world, only occasionally do you get news about another part. So if you want to know what is going on there.

Check THEIR news papers and such, you can do that

Check Google News, and then pick your country and it will customize the news from the perspective of whichever country you pick.

    Australian News - http://news.google.com/news?ned=au

Additionally, the CIA has an AWESOME web-page for these kinds of things, - never let it be said that over-funding your intelligence services was a total waste of taxpayers dollars.

    Here's Indonesia for example
