What do you dip the shirt in for tie-dye?

i think you just drop the shirt in water and buy special paint and just put paint on the wet shirt and yeah..

ok first wrap a white shirt in rubberbands just randomly and get buckets for how many colors you want the get some colored dye (google it for a retailer) then dip a section of the shirt for a while 2-4 minuets then do the same for a different section then when your shirt is  colored the way you want it soak it in vinegar for a long time (over night) to set the dye then you can wear it it wont look like a store bought shirt but you can say you made it

take a plain white tea. rubber band parts of it that you want to dye. You can buy anycolor die you choose, blue red.......etc. Then just dip the rubber band parts in the dye. Just look in a fabric store for the dye.

What you do is you get different shirt syes, put them in bottles and hold the shirt up. Squirt the bottles on the shirt.

Viola! Tye-Dye!

i done that in technology you get your shirt or whatever and tie sections with rubber elasticated bands so do one section red one orange and one yellow.then you need to make the tie die.get the red paint and dilute it with water then do that for the other colors paint it on wait for 3-5 hours or so until it dries and unravel the elastic bands and then your done you can wear your shirt in pride .

Then in different places on the shirt you put like a marble and tie it in with a hair tie so that you get the cool effect.

basically tie-dye is called that because you tie up the shirt with rubber bands into sections and dye each part of the shirt separated by rubber bands the color of your choice. when you remove the rubber bands after dying the shirt you'll have a tie-dye design

You buy regular t-shirt dye in the stores, I think you can find it in the laundry isle, or you can try the craft dept. too, it's fairly inexpensive... you just follow the directions on the box, mix it up in a big bucket, then get the t-shirt you want to dye... take rubber bands and wrap them around certain parts of the shirt... it doesnt matter where you wrap them you will still come out with a neat pattern... you can dip different portions of the shirt in different colors, then take all of the rubber bands off of the shirt, and hang it out to dry... when its dry wash it like normal and you will have yourself a tie-dye shirt!
