Question:

What do you do, when your depressed?

Ive been really depressed lately.

I have no motivation for anything.

I haven't done anything fun or even had fun in about 2 months.

I just feel like a loser, school is starting soon and I want this to be a good year. How can i make myself feel better? I just wanna have fun again.

  2. How do you overcome depression? Popping a pill won't do it, although medication is sometimes necessary. During my own bout with depression, I uncovered a few tips that can work for you.

    1. Meditate. Your depression may fall prey to it's sister disorder, anxiety. Whether it does or not, taking the time to learn deep breathing and relaxation.

    2. Force yourself to go outside. Even if the weather isn't good, getting outside to walk, read or write is always good. Even if you don't feel like it. I found that I was more depressed when I didn't do anything, even if I didn't feel like it. Don't push it, but do get out a bit, in whatever way you feel comfortable.

    3. Write. Get the feelings out. Holding everything in will do no good, and depression doesn't "just go away".

    4. Find support. If you do not feel that you need to seek therapy (but don't rule it out!) then go online or buy some books to educate you on the illness. It can be little embarrassing, but once you find others who can relate, you'll heal faster.

    5. Don't watch the evening news. This one sounds sort of silly, but trust me here. Keep yourself around the positive.

    With a little work on your part, depression can be healed or alleviated. If all else fails, please seek professional help. There is nothing wrong with it, and you'll thank yourself in the long run. You deserve every bit of happiness there is. I know you can do it!

  3. Talk to your primary care physician, or a psychiatrist. You shouldn't have to feel that way, and 2 months of consistent sadness is a sign of depression. Don't wait- do something about it today. Good luck

  4. call people! theres no better way than to call someone and see what theyre up to. I find im always happier around other people even if im not doing anything but hanging around with them. Even if the first few people you call arent doing anything there has GOT to be someone you know that is willing to go out with you!

  5. I am glad you ask this. I find myself in depression allot since I suffer being Bipolar. Here are things that I do so that I can get through some of my moments.

    1. Call a friend

    2. Exercise

    3. I make myself clean my house.

    4. I volunteer

    5. I invite friends over and cook.

    6. I take on the attitude of gratitude.

    Calling a friend is vital when I am seriously in despair friends will always want to help. Exercise releases endorphins and then I can say d**n I look good. Volunteering help me realize that I have it better than allot. Friendships are nourished when you break bread and finally it is hard to be  depressed when I am grateful for what I do have in my life. I hope this helps. If all else fails pray and I am no religious idiot but I do believe in the power of positive thinking which prayer is accessing the most positive power we have.

    Get your butt off of the computer and go outside!

    Call up some friends, talk to them about school, hang out with them at the movies or something

    Do some hobbies, play some sports!

    Make the rest of the summer a good one.

    But dont forget to be prepared for school, of course :)

  7. hmm the best thing you can do is just cheer up! start by getting off the computer, bake some cookies or cake or something, call up some of you friends and go do something with them like shopping, you can get a first day of school outfit. Just have fun and if your still depressed tell you parents and they will maybe bring you to a docter that will give you medications. but you dont want to do that, only you can really make your self from being totally depressed
