  1. I'd choose one path and let things fall around that.  That is:

Apply for a college that has a program you are interested in and can maybe accept some of the credits from your 2.5 years in.

That would allow you to learn the program's hours and get a part-time job surrounding that.  I know the people running a Journalist/Writer program would have some connections in getting you a part time job in that field too.

The u.s. government websites have a lot of "clerical office" jobs.  u.s. military sites have many clerical jobs for civilians also.

The bottom line is, (I was in this same problem), take the leap of faith and start a college program:

--you're older so you'll know what college is expecting

--you're young in general so you have many years to shape your path

--you can pick almost any top writer or journalist and find out how he/she made it to that point - you will be blown away by the strange paths they followed to get there; everyone pays their dues.

--you will get in a pool of people who share your ambitions and will be great people to bounce ideas off of.

--some college programs have grants that will defray your cost - or pay all of your tuition to enter.

--you can do it.  --you can do it.  --you can do it.  --you can do it.

  2. It can feel overwhelming to have these constant questions and thoughts running through your head.  I suggest get yourself a notebook.  Make a list of things you'd like to get done.  No task is too small.  Even if it's ironing your clothes or taking tango lessons, everything should go on this list.  than everyday you should check off one thing off the list.  JUST ONE, that's all you have to tell yourself.  Over time, you'll be heading in the right path, and you'll find it easy to do 5 or 10 things a day.  One thing a day will make you unstuck.  You can also add to your list as time goes on.  You'll be able to accomplish so much more than you're thinking is possible right now.  Just stick to your plan and everything will be fine.

    Good Luck!

  3. This is what I did and I hope it helps you. I have also just finished two years of college and I didn't take what I really wanted because they quit offering it. So I did a little research on line and found a college that I could attend on line ( I work full time) and take what I want while I am working. The great thing was they did not have a residency requirement and they were cheaper than University of Phoenix.

You might have to take a job that is not what you want at first until you find what you are looking for.

Some places to look for a job would be Career Builders.com, check out you state, city, county websites also.

  4. Have you tried a Trade Tech School? They provide schooling for stuff you want to learn a specific area instead of all the other things you may not want to learn like history or government (examples only).

For example I didn't want togo back to college because I really don't care about history because I want to learn how to fix computers so I joined ITT Technical Institute just for computer stuff. Maybe that's what you need to do?
