  1. inside get the run outside get the outside runs and the quarterback


  2. Inside linebackers protect against the running back from running the "football". Outside linebackers are designated to attack the quarterback or defend an "alternate" receiver. That's your answer in simple form. Like most Sport, I could have written a book to answer this question.  

  3. Your job is to Defensive players placed behind the defensive linemen. Their job is to tackle runners and block or intercept passes. There are three or four linebackers.
