  1. try taking small roles.  you can look for some here: hollywood-opportunities(dotcom)

  2. You have to get some experience and get some training keeping in mind that agents want to make money. In order to make money they will want to work with good actors so they know that when they send them out on auditions, that they will have a good chance of booking a job. Only if the actors they send out book the jobs can an agent make any money.

That's why you need to get some training first.

    Tony

  3. You need a solid resume that shows training and experience and professional headshots.

That's the bare minimum. There are plenty of actors in NY and LA who have these and still don't have agents. If you really want to know what agents look for in actors they sign, read "Ask an Agent" by Margaret Emory. Great book, very educational for the aspiring actor.

Next, get into some classes and start auditioning for every thing you can.

  4. You take classes, and grow as a performer.
