Official report from the Australian Bureau of Statistics - just released.  

The IQ of Adelaide hit an all time high at 29 September 2007, marginally out-skilling the previous record achieved in the September 2004 quarter.

As always, the ABS investigates the statistics it produces whenever anomalies occur.  The Australian Statistician has concluded that the anomaly on both occasions was largely due to the influx of Port Adelaide supporters into Victoria.
