up when hes left at home or eats the walls when you take him to a kennel sitter place? My friends dog stays home and has a doggie door to the outside and when the neighbor started building a fence the loud noised freaked him out and he tore up the floor in the bathroom and the carpet in the hallway. Then he did it again when the helicopters where flying during the fires we had. Then she went out of town and took him to doggie daycare and he ate the sheetrock walls. He has done this at a few places now and they wont let him back so last weekend she took him to her dads and they left him home for a few hours and he tore up the carpet. Oh and on 4th of July he ate the walls in someones garage. She has no clue what to do. She had him check out health wise and they said hes in good health. They suggested putting him on some pills for anxiety. The thought of pilling him up all the time breaks her heart. Anyone else have this problem and did you fix it and if so how???

  1. i put a sheet of plywood where my dog was digging in the carpet. left it there long enough for her to lose interest.  also, i would recommend some type of blanket or sheet to protect the walls.

  2. lose the carpet

  3. You spend about $100 dollars, buy a crate/kennel, and put him in that when he's going to be alone.

That's not too long to be crated for an adult, potty trained dog.

My dog is crated over night, which is from 10 pm to 9 am.

  4. he probably has seperation anxiety so heres a technuiqe; tell ur friend to go out the door then 10 seconds later come back in then go back out then come back in keep doing that for at least 10 min so ur dog will get used to her leaving serisouly this will work! trust me!! good luck! : D

  5. This dog has deep problems. You need the help of a professional.

This problem is caused by separation anxiety and boredom.

Dog needs evaluation and training, or another home.

Animals are not meant to be left for long periods of time without a crate and proper care and exercise.

Dogs owner needs to be responsible and get the dog the help it needs!

Or she should give the dog up for adoption, for this is no good home.

WATCH Animal Planet, "Me or the Dog" AND

National Geographics "Dog Whispere"r for starters.

But most of all she needs to get the dog help ASAP. I am surprised the dog has not become severely ill from all that wall and carpet eating.

  6. Maybe he/she- has separation anxiety(I know it sounds stupid, but it is possible) try to get a buddy to play with him/her. i know you probaly dont want to get another dog, but i might be best (: try to get an older dog, so u dont have to housebreak it or anything like that

            Hope i helped!
