What do you do if a crown falls off your tooth and you can't get to a dentist?

My crown fell off and I can't get to a dentist for a few days. I don't know what to do!

  1. You can use a little bit of toothpaste, that will create enough suction to keep it on some. If that doesn't work good enough you can buy some stuff at most stores to temporarily cement it back on.


  2. My dentist told me that you can use some denture adhesive to temporarily glue it on, like "Poly Dent" or "Sea Bond".

  3. If it's intact, clean out the left-over cement as well as you can.  You can go to a drug store and find temporary cement to mix up and place in the crown.  Then just glue it back on.  Remove any excess that squirts out on the sides of the tooth.  

    Sometimes I've seen that the temporary cement works so well, we just wait for it to get loose again to use final cement!
