What do you do if a ring is stuck on your finger?

first wait until she is real relaxed.  First thing in the morning is a good time.  try the dish soap or hand lotion.  if that doesn't work wash your hands and try some ky jelly or Astro glide to slip it off.  If no luck start calling jewelery repair places.  my dad is a jeweler and has fat women coming in his store all the time to saw the ring off their fingers a few years after they have been married and have gained a bunch of weight.  Don't worry its very painless and the ring will not be destroyed.  there is a tiny tool that slips under the band of the ring and clips it off.  Then the jeweler can repair it and can size it to a more appropriate size that will actually fit her.  Good luck!

Have her to hold her hand under cold running water (just a trinkle, not high. You may need more pressure if it's too tight. Lightly work the ring off, when it starts to move away fromo the hand, you're getting there. Soon it should be off.

If you need to, then add a little butter or something to the finger.

All the dish soap and margarine answers are good. But if you have been trying for a long time, just let it be for awhile. It is probably swollen to add to the problem. She should also try drinking water.

First, soak the hand in cold water.  That will reduce any swelling of the fingers.

Then try to loosen the grip - lotion, margarine, dishsoap, anything slippery.

If she really can't get it off, go to a reputable jewelers.  They have a delicate machine that can slice the ring without cutting her finger (hopefully).
