My housemates car was keyed last night and her wing mirror snapped off. What should she do? Should she call the police or her insurnace company or what? I want to help her but don't know what to do. There were 4 other cars keyed last night, should we go and talk to their owners?

  1. yes inform the police, and go speak to other car owners to see if they saw anything

  2. call the police

  3. What are you going to do, have the police bring everyone with keys in their pockets in for questioning? If nobody witnessed the crime, there's nothing you can do. Get a police report and submit a claim to insurance.

  4. cops insurance the other people all yes

  5. Yes, tell the police . . it could be that they've nicked someone doing that in the next street and can question them about your damage while they're at it.

  6. Write him a note to say, if I see you near my car again I will kick your ***.

  7. Get in touch with the police and insurance as you will probably need a case number off the police for your insurance claim.

  8. It is worth reporting it to the police though there is probably not a lot they can do about it. It will probably be cheaper to pay for the repairs yourself rather than let the insurance do it (taking your 'no-claims' into account). Shop around for quotes. Once given you can then reveal any cheaper once you have had to see if they will drop the price.

  9. Get a complete police report on file and call your insurance company and do both "NOW".............

  10. Report it to the Police as criminal damage. If there is a pattern of crimes they may get someone but expect to end up paying for it yourself.
