You're at a stop sign, you're making a right turn. A big SUV is blocking your view of traffic flowing in the lane you want to turn into. What do you do? Should I have stopped way before the stop sign so I can see behind the SUV? Or should I crawl at the stop sign until I can see oncoming traffic? But that's dangerous too..

  1. Crawl out as far as safely possible. If you still cannot see, then the safest thing to do is wait for the SUV to move.

  2. You slowly inch out to where you can sort of see what's coming, and gas it when you can. DON'T FORGET to look ahead of you before stepping on the go pedal. You MAY hit someone walking in front of you if you don't look.

    (I learned the hard way)

  3. If you are beside the SUV and you cannot see traffic from the left then you also don't really know if the SUV is going straight or turning left...It appears the only safe choice is to let the SUV go first so that you can see traffic from the left and whether or not it is an all-way stop...Just about all traffic manuals say "Yield to the right" at uncontrolled (no light) intersections...Most drivers will self-alternate at these types of intersections...Each situation is different, but I find that letting cross traffic go first, the opposing vehicle and then me works well...In any case, I always yield and if the other driver yields back to me, I tip my lid and proceed - carefully

  4. Wait, stop and crawl.

  5. I hate it when those big suvs and trucks pull up so far I can't see around them. I always ease up a little bit and if I still can not see around them I wait until they move out of the way.
