Brush it off, and do not dignify the accusation with a response.  Otherwise, the accuser gets the attention he or she desires.  You remain cool and distant from this person, and act professional at all times.  Others will see things for what they are.

to act professionally and not make a scene and stoop down to the accuser's level..

Well, this can be a devastating thing to have happen to you, cuz people always want to think the worst...all you can do, is hold your head up high, and if you are put on the spot, tell them if they believe it, then that is a good indication, that you really don't want to be friends with someone who doesn't believe you, or know you as well as you thought they did....gather up all the people around you, who will defend you...I know what it is like, and I just forgive them as I know God will take care of them, if He so desires ..xx
