Get some water and a damp towel, rinse your eyes out and dab at it very gently with the towel.

I worked as a landscaper and I got sand in my eyes. I took a hose, bend my head in front, opened one eye at a time, and get the hose in there (No gun thingy) Open the hose a little so it wont hurt your eye.

rinse with water, try not to rub it, the grains of the dirt will scratch your eye and that will hurt for awhile, then you will need to see an eye dr for antibiotic. if you have some lubricating eye drops you can use that after to ease the soreness good luck
