What do you do if you see a tornado heading towards your house?

get in the basement and close evey dor and window or if you don't have a basement go in the bathroom and get in the bath tub, turn it up so its over you if you can but not a good idea if you bathroom is up stairs but they're usaually not if your in an are with high risk of tornadoes

A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop and you should pay close attention to the weather.

If a tornado warning is issued for your area, do not panic. Go to a place of safety. Go to the lowest floor of your house like the basement. Once in the basement get under a sturdy piece of furniture or go into a bathroom in the basement. If no basement is available go in to an interior room such as a closet. If that is not available go in to an bathroom without windows. Stay away from outside walls and windows. Cover your head to protect from flying debris. Never try to out run a tornado in a car, if cought in a car and can not take no place of safety, lay down in a ditch and cover your head. Do not take cover under a over pass. Do not stay in mobile homes as they do not offer protection and can be flown as easily as cars can.

grab the digital camera and start taping. there ain't a basement so it won't do much good to do anything else

edit: and for once this ain't a smart answer. i honestly have no basement so i'd be taking shelter in the living room with the windows & typhoon bars. why not have a camera also?

What do I do if I see a tornado heading towards my house?

Hold out my arms and flap them like a bird... I'm actually looking forward to the tornados this year. Probably my only way to Florida this summer. Wanted to go to Universal Studios to ride the lazy river and go on the tube ride.
