  1. Don't leave the wet towels down. I put a fan on high to finish drying any moisture that couldn't be sopped or sucked up.

  2. You could try and use a VAX hover to suck up the water, if you live in a block of flats you will need to check with your neighours to see if the water has'nt go through there ceiling.

  3. open window and let it air for 24 hours - what happened to the floor boards?!?!?

  4. plunge the waste outlet keeping a cloth over the overflow or take the bath panel off and remove the trap but be careful as its full of water

  5. In the case of the bath tub or shower turn the water off. For the tub open the drain.

In the case of the toilet turn off the water tap on the line going to the water tank.

  6. We just chuck towels down, lots of them. I don't think there is anything else to do. I suppose you could try  mopping it up but that could take for ever.

  7. wet/dry vac will suck all the rest up.

figure out how it happened so it doesnt happen again.

did water get under the flooring? do you have tiles? laminate?  if you have laminate its going to bubble.

lots of fans blowing in the room for days will dry it out.

  8. Wait to see for possible tile lifting, etc. Put in a dehumidified now.

I assume the tub (bath) overflowed? Was the overflow drain plugged?
