We compliment each other really well and never have any issues between us. We are each others best friend and love each other very much. This happens to be our biggest issue. He says he feels everything fits except he's apprehensive about one thing that keeps holding him back. He's not sure what that is and doesn't know how to put it into words. He doesn't want to break up but we can't continue dating forever. Advice?

  1. Plain & simple he doesnt want to marry you!!!! Or he already would have...

  2. Communication is key in any relationship. If he can't put it into words why he doesn't think you are the one for him then you should just move on. Don't settle and don't ask him to settle if he is not truly happen and in it 100%. You make the choice. Do you want him or do you want to be married? You both need to talk about why you want to get married and why he doesn't. What is he afraid of and what do you expect?

  3. He knows what it is that's holding him back.

  4. Why buy the cow, when you can get the milk for free?  Stop giving him free milk.

  5. Look for a new boyfriend and no free milk until there is a ring on the finger.

  6. Yeah, find a guy that loves you enough to marry you.

OMG Val--you are up to 15?!?!!?

    LMFAO!

  7. he knows why and if he is a man - he should tell you so at least you can feel better about yourself - they are his issues, not yours

  8. He likes things they way they are.  He would probably never have brought up marriage if you didn't.  I'd say time to make an ultimatum.

  9. Say YES already!

Say, it is ok that he can not put it into words. Say you will agree with whatever the "it" is. Let him show you and don't disagree, let him get it out. Truly let him know you will be ok with it...and mean it! ask if you need to be alone, or close your eyes. Keep searching for the way to ease his nerves. Usually it is an action that he is thinking of when it is hard to put into words.

  10. He just doesn't want to get married.  I think you should give your relationship a break and see where it takes the both of you.  Perhaps, then he'll realize that he can't live without you and propose to you.

  11. He knows what it is.

He doesn't want to marry you.

He doesn't want to be tied down with you if "something better" comes along.

  12. wait...but not tooo long!
