  1. if you break the window do like in the movies put your coat over the glass then hit it.I keep a spare key in a secret place outside.

  2. Break a window. a small one.

  3. Depending on how sturdy the lock is and if there's a deadbolt, you can try to take a credit card or other sturdy plastic card(not a good one cause this will ruin it) and carefully slide the card in  between the door latch and the doorframe. It could take a few minutes and some careful juggling but eventually you'll feel the latch pop and the door will open.

Now, if there's a deadbolt or a security catch then this will not work.

  4. First off, I live in a VERY rural area.  Most of the folks "near" us have been our neighbors for 25-30 years.  We could go to our neighbors for help no matter the time of day or night...that's the kind of area we live in.

However it would be extremely unlikely we would lock our keys in our house...we live so rural, with almost zero crime our house is almost always unlocked.

In the event I did manage to lock myself out, and for some reason was unable to open a door, window, or garage, I simply go out to one of the Livestock Guardian Dogs, and remove the house key from their collar.

Since they are great white furry bear like dogs (150 pounds each) their collars don't show up, much less the key, or their tags.

With the four of them on duty to guard house, farm, and livestock, why lock doors?  It's not like people even get out of their cars when they arrive or anything ~lol~.  Rather intimidating to have your car surrounded by dogs that can look you right in the eye, through your car windows,  while all four of their feet on planted on the ground.

  5. go someplace safe that is open for 24 hours and wait until someone is awake to help me.

  6. well, leave your house and go to somewhere safe like your friend's house. beside, your house is safe anyway.

  7. This happened to me just last Saturday. I got back into my car and stayed warm until the kids came home with their keys!

I also have the locksmith on speed dial. It is a standing joke that I could lose my head if it weren't fastened on so well.

  8. I would call a 24 service locksmith!
