What do you do in AVID? 9th grader CA?

i just got my schedule for high skool i got AVID i know its to prepare you for college but what kind of things do you do in there? my friends told me its a waist of time do you think tht

im a senior now && ive been in the AVID program since i was in 8th grade.

its a good program, but for your 9th grade year... (im in texas)

we did tha 7 highly habits of teens (something like that)

we made mandalas with our life long goals... hmm.

its been so long lol.. uhhh

idr but i dnt say its a waste of time because it really does prep you && they help you find scholarships for yourself so it wont be as overwhelming as it'd be if you were doing it on your own with no guidance.
