What do you do in Choir? Choir People Please!!

Ok, I LOVE to sing and I have a really good voice. I want to take choir but I'm not sure what all you do. It's new to our school this year. I know they teach you how to sing properly, but do you have performances? Do you have to sing alone in front of everyone? What do you really do?? I would appreciate accurate answers. Thanks.

I was in choir for two years.

There are some performances, but it's up to your teacher on whether it's mandatory or not. My teacher gave those who didn't want to sing an essay to write.

There's also a competition, but it's not for the whole class and optional. If you don't want to sing solo, tell your teacher. He/She will probably understand.

Besides singing, you learn to read music and recognize notes. It's really not that hard, so don't sweat it. You'll also probably take a test to see if you're Alto, soprano, high soprano, or in the middle.

I was in choir as well.

It was really fun. I got to meet really nice kids.

You do have performances and competitions. the competitions are for the whole group and there are some for individuals who want to sing solo or a duet or something.

You'll do warming up exercises at the beggining of class and you'll learn to read music. At first I thought it was really hard, but it was simple.

I recommend it if you really like to sing.

Yes,they have district try outs,if you make it you go to state and everyone

.im guessin ur goin into middle school? hah, you bacically have a couple group preformances, and you meet daily and just practice your songs. if ur schools like mine, you have units to like piano mainly.

as for singing solos...you have to audition for your upcmming concert, or if your school has a yearly musical. welcome.
