What do you do in DRAMA tryouts? ?

what do they usually do?? do you have to sing? I'm a terrible singer!! I want to act though.

  1. Okay, first of all it depends on what the show is that you are auditioning for. If it is a musical or opera/operetta then most likely you will have to sing and dance. But if it is not a musical/opera/operetta then you will most likely just do a cold reading of the script, which means just read and act out the script. So, before auditioning for whatever show it is you are planning on doing, check and see what type of show it is. If you must sing, be sure to bring sheet music with you and don't drink anything but water or tea an entire day before your audition, it will help out your voice greatly! i myself cannot sing either but by trying and being prepared i made it into Pirates Of Penzance which is an operetta. Break A Leg! I hope you get a part! :)  


  2. yea im doing drama club this school year and im nervous becuase i cant sing either! and really want to be an actor so im nervous too but i know that if its a musical that they are doin then you have to sing dance and act. if its just a play then most likely you read out a script and act! =] sorry if i wasnt of much help

  3. idk ........ ooh ooh i kno now i di not get ur Q @ first u have to read a part of the plat or a diff play and u dont HAVE to sing just only if u want to i tryed out for a singing part and they said i blew the roof off the place and was the best in all the singing auditions and there were 450 ppl going out for it

  4. Well when i tried out for drama we had to sing, dance and see how well we could memorize the scene theyd given us
