  1. As a High School coach I would say that unless your skills are very weak you can make my team by doing 2 things that anyone can do.  Pay attention and do everything the coach says, the way he tells you to do it, when he tells you to do it and until he tells you to stop.  And secondly, work as hard as you can for every second you are there.

Those two things go a long way, if you have questions ask because when a player doesnt understand what I want and they jusy "Wing it" they get cut.

Finally dont try to impress anyone, just do your best, and do what you can do and dont even think for one second about worrying about the things you cant do.

Good luck... do your best and hopefully things will go your way.

  2. 1.) Stamina exercises

    2.) Passing

    3.) Dribbling

    4.) Shooting

5.) Team play (five on five)

  3. run a lot, like at least an hr a day till tryouts

practice shooting and dribbling with both hands

    free throws too

    get about 100 free

    100 lay ups both sides

    200 jumpers

    100 3's

play a lot of scrimmage games, cause thats mostly what tryouts are.

Have confidence, and a good attitude. They look for that

GOOD LUCK, i hope you make it

  4. To be honest, when I played in high school my coach told us before tryouts that we didnt have to go, because the team was already set.. but I watched anyway and all I saw them doing was scrimmaging, it depends really, sometimes the coaches pay attention sometimes they dont... You should see if your school is having like a conditioning program for your team, that would be starting waay before tryouts an thats usually where the team is selected from if they're not just keeping the same players from the year before... But, if theyre not having a conditioning program, then at tryouts, if you're right handed you should show that you are ambidextrious, and use your left to do some layups and drive to your left a few times... IF you're a PG, show that you can make LEAD passes, instead of just chest passes... Lead passes are when you throw the ball to where your teammate is going to be, instead of where he is... That impresses coaches and leads to an easy score.. .Also, box out on your rebounds, dont overdribble, and play tough D and be vocal.. Thats what coaches like, when you are vocal and tough...So good luck with doing good bro hope u make it

  5. A lot of drills and suicides.

  6. hey ots depends on what type of school and the type of program it is for example if school is know for being in the state championship all the time then try outs will be roughmost coaches just work on basic things like shooting  (always make your lay up and foul shots)they also test your basketball IQ by making you play 5 on 5and make sure your in BASKETBALL shape.... good luck with everything
