  1. go to the pool, look around the ship, tan, eat, go to the shows at the theater at night, spa treatments, jaccuzi, ice-skating, rock climbing, work out, roller skating, mini golf. i think thts pretty much enough. o and sleep. =]

  2. relax with a good book, watch the shows, people watch :), meet people, see the sites, swim, shop, sleep in, have breakfast on your balcony, many many options. I would take a few shorter cruises also, to see if i liked that sort of vacation. Cruising is Not for every one. ALOT of people are finding reasons to go however and LOVE it alot. CHeers

  3. We are not big drinker or disco or gamblers.  We love to cruise.  Just relax and have fun by the pool and watch shows and eat if you like.  They are alot of fun.  The best way to go on a vacation.

  4. you eat a lot=they have shows , art auctions, lounges, a library or a nice walk on the deck.   they also have movies

  5. It depends on which cruise line you are on, which is why it is important to choose a cruise line that matches what you want to do.

Disney is a family cruise line and does not have a casino.  Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian are also family friendly, but do have casinos.  These lines are activity oriented.  All cruise ships have pools.  Some have water slides, some have rock climbing walls, some have miniature golf, some have skating (both ice and inline).  Some have a surfing simulator and one even has a bowling alley.  There are also a lot of passenger participation games offered on these ships.

Princess, Holland America Line (HAL) and Celebrity are also family friendly.  However, these three lines attract an older demographic and less children.  Here the extra activities are more along the lines of enrichment (cooking classes, computer classes, guest lecturers ...).

I don't gamble or dance, and I don't spend time in the bars drinking.  I go on a cruise to visit the ports and relax.  Some like to lay out in the sun and tan or read a book.  Some like to spend time in the gym working out or in the spa getting a special treatment.  Some like to shop.  Some people just like to spend time with friends or family.

Cruising is not for everyone.  I would recommend you take a short three, four or five night cruise and try it out, because there is a lot more to do than just drink, gamble and dance.

  6. Cruise ships have some really fun activities every day. Check out the cruise "newspaper" that is delivered to your room every day to see whats going on that day. My parents went to napkin folding class, and ice sculping class, and my sister and I went to hula and lei making classes (our cruise was to hawaii)

  7. I'd go swimming in the pool, enjoy the scenery. take pictures etc.

  8. Well I have been on many cruises and didn't do any of those things...you can hang out by the pool, pig out, meet new people, take pictures, shop, at the ports of calls do an excursion, watch the fantastic shows, climb the rockwall only on rccl, go ice skating on the ship only rccl, go jogging, inline skating on rccl, take tours of the ship...and still much more that you can do onbaord and at the ports of call...hope this helps, and if you have any questions, feel free to send me a message = ]

  9. Enjoy the pool, relax by the pool, go to the spa, enjoy the shows at night, enjoy all the activities they plan during the day that everyone can join in on. When the ship is in port.  There are many excursions to choose from.  You don't have do drink or gamble to have fun on a cruise.  Please go,  You will have a great time!  I have been on two and took my niece on one for a gradutation present and didn't drink much when she was there and we had a blast.  You can too!

  10. Well, you could go to a show!!! They can be really fun. Usually, the good ones are after dinner, or late nite.

  11. go scuba diving and eat at the really expensive restaurant on the ship.

  12. eat, swim, sit in the hot tub, work out at the gym, play vollyball or basket ball, go to shows, comedy acts, watch movies, read, eat, soake up the sun, sleep, make new friends, go to the library or the piano bar......

  13. There are shows, deck activities and karaoke. On land there are so many things you can do and try. If Cruise's were only for those who drink and gamble, why do so many kids have an awsome time. Try it

  14. Obviously, this is your first cruise.  I wondered the same thing before my first cruise.  However, the problem wasn't finding something to do, but that there was so much to do, I didn't get to do half of what was offered on the ship.

There are live shows, movies, workout in the health club, take a walk on the promenade deck, shop, read a book or pick up the daily crossword puzzle from the library, go on deck and watch dolphins following the ship (you may even get lucky and see some whales), play board games or cards, shoot some hoops, if you don't dance, you can still sit back and listen to the band, or just relax in your room and order room service.  And the best thing is, except for the shopping, it's all included in the price of the cruise.  I'm sure I'll think of more that I missed after I sign off, but don't forget that a good portion of the time, you'll be in port and be enjoying the sights and culture of wherever you are.  Have a great time!

Each night, there will be a newsletter on your door telling about the next day's activities.  Get familiar with it.

The best comment I heard about the cruise:  As we were leaving on the last day, my wife asked "Can we do this every year?"

By the way, the cruises make a bundle on the drinks, since you don't drink, it will save you a bunch of money.
