What do you do on public transit?

Question

Many people do things when they ride the bus or the train to avoid other people, or the environment of they are in. What do you do?

i listen to music on my ipod and (somtime) do my homework.

I use it as "down time", just to relax and let my mind wander.

Sometimes I bring a small garbage bag and clean out my purse.  Other times I balance my checkbook or read a good book.  I try and think of things I need to do or can do while sitting on my tush for an hour or longer.  I take the bus and then the train so I have lots of spare time to catch up on writing letters, thank you notes or now I'm finishing up on my Christmas cards. :)
