  1. I do reuse.  Especially plastic bags, plastic jugs and other containers.  We disinfect and then reuse.  We also recycle.  We recycle our paper/plastic/glass and aluminum products.   We switched our lightbulbs to flourescent energy efficient bulbs.  We unplug our appliances when not in use.   We turn off our lights when we aren't in the room.   We limit our use of air conditioning and even our heating.  We try to conserve water, but could probably be more efficient in that aspect.   We buy "environmentally friendly" biodegradeable cleaning products.  And we try and select sustainable resources whenever possible, buy organic whenever possible, and buy local whenever possible.   Heck, I even use blackle search engine instead of google.  It's really not that hard being green...

  2. My house is run on solar energy and wind generation. I recycle garbage and have a composting toilet to save on water usage. I sell power back to the city from my wind generator. I drive a hybrid vehicle. I eat organic foods only and use organic products, IE: organic dishwashing soap, so it doesn't pollute the ground. Any other suggestions what I should.

  3. I don't really worry about conserving the environment and energy.

  4. Buy locally...support the farmers in your own area and actually see where your food comes from.

    Buy organic.

    reduce, reuse recycle

    composting

grow what you can on your own land

    compact flourescents

power off at the outlet and eliminate vampire loads..electri usage from appliances plugged in but not used.

    Reusable shopping bags.

Buy in bulk or only what you are going to eat.

hardly eat out...plus you never know what is going on with your food behind the scenes.

Do not put my money towards irresponsible corporations just because of some instant gratification need or fad.

Simplify my life...natural cleaners, natural products, have only what you need and when it is done, recycle.

    Donate old clothes, items

Wear my clothes until I can't and then recycle them into cleaning rags.

Only drive when I have to and try to do everything (all errands)in one round.

    My dream:

To be completely self-sufficient and off the grid...researching and making connections in order to make that a reality. Because what is freedom, if you aren't really free? As long as you are dependent on others for your life, and it would cease to be if others called the shots, how can you call yourself free? It can be done, people have just got to get away from our lives of parasitic consumption and being slaves to the media--thinking that self-worth is tied to a label or certain way of life. it is that thinking that is getting us in the hole we are in.

  5. Here is something, though there is always room to improve:

    - I recycle everything my city gives an opportunity to.

    - I use everything (clothes, electronics, tools, furniture...) until they are completely broken and beyond repair.

    - I do not buy things that I don't need - I don't go shopping for fun, I buy only when I really need something.

    - I buy used clothes and dishes from flea markets or ask relatives and friends to give old ones to me.

    - I DON'T OWN OR USE A CAR/TAXI - only my trusty feet, bicycle and bus.

    - I AM VEGAN and maintain healthy weight - recent studies show that it's  more environmentally important thing to think what you eat compared to even transportation. Raising cattle is very wasteful and produces enormous amount of greenhouse gases (methane, carbon dioxide etc..) and it is even not essential to lead healthy life with delicious food. Also not controlling your eating to the point that you are almost obese is such a waste. Eating 3 times more than you need to is not doing good for anyone.

    - I try to buy products that are packaged as little as possible.

    - I do not use commercial chemicals on myself or at home, only baking soda, vinegar and lemon. Check out some baking soda and vinegar cleaning tips. You can even wash laundry and yourself with them! :)

    - I don't use any kind of drugs (including tobacco and alcohol) because, once again, that land could be used to farm food. Instead it's turned into something that harms our health and security.

    - I donate money to environmental and socially constructive organizations.

    Things to improve:

    - I should use less water, sometimes I linger in shower much longer than is needed

    - Sometimes I tend to buy more food than I need and it spoils before I manage to eat it all.

There must be much more but my fingers are all cramping already :D
