  1. All the suggestions I've seen above will only cover the symptom without fixing the problem.

Muscle soreness is the result of damaged muscle fibers (don't worry, "damaged" doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong.) If you want to get rid of the soreness faster, you're going to want to repair those muscle fibers faster.

The solution is an amino acid called "L-Glutamine". I won't get into the science mumbo jumbo and just tell you what it does.

Among other things, it helps your body to absorb protein. Taking massive amounts of protein isn't going to do any good if your body is only planning on using a certain amount. L-glutamine prolongs the period in which your body uses that protein to repair your muscles. I don't want to get technical, so here's the punch line: l-glutamine helps you repair the damaged muscle fibers faster leading to decreased soreness.

I'm pretty confident that this will take care of your soreness. I've never heard any complaints about it.

Don't worry. This isn't some weird supplement for bodybuilders. It's something your body already has, but not enough of. So there are no side effects.

  2. soak in tub of hot water with Epsom salt (get this from pharmacy)

  3. definately epsom salt....its the absolute best. and it doesnt make you smell like a pharmacy or a cough drop. the salt draws out the soreness.

  4. no matter what people say sorness will not go away much using these products or not.you just gotta tuff it out...

  5. Products like IcyHot, Biofreeze, or other gels that have the hot/cold feeling are pretty decent at relaxing muscles and aliviating soreness for the short term.

If you plan on workout out or being sore on a regular basis you should avoid using the products because it can mask pulls and strains. A good stretching routine before and after workouts as well as on off days can go a long ways.

  6. Biofreeze; it's this rollon thing with menthol in it, works wonders.

  7. Whey Protein; drink about 3 glasses a day with your three meals and it will help your muscle recover faster.

  8. Ice packs when I'm injured.

Some OTC pain relievers if I'm so sore I cannot function (rare)

Just tough it out most of the time.

  9. the soreness you feel is a build up of lactic acid in the muscle caused by little micro tears in the muscle when you train when they heal you will be a little faster and stronger..

heat as the guy above suggests is rubbish!! all that will do is cause the blood to flow more... you will feel comfort but it will get worse..

after you train try to sit it out in a cold bath or shower, eat good quality protein to help recovery and drink lots of water and you could even try gentle excercise the next day and of course dont forget to stretch

but sayin all that its good to feel the pain because you know your doing something right.... so SUCK IT UP!!!

  10. someone told me to eat oranges its has vitamins that help

  11. you have to do a cool down after you work out and then do stretch then your body won't hurt so much....many martial arts classes stretch statically before class which is wrong.

  12. Tiger balm is good for muscle soreness.

For overstretched limbs put a bunch of bananas in with some milk and enjoy.
