  1. I curl up into a ball & stretch out in my darkness.

  2. I've come to the point where I know that the voice of emptiness is not actually my own. My live is full, my heart is happy, and any empty thoughts I have don't come from my heart or soul. They never did. There is always a reason to be happy. If the voice of emptiness tries to drown out my passion, that's when I remind myself of all the wonderful things I have in my life :)

  3. I lie down (knowing that if I'm not sleepy, there's no way I'll be able to remain lying down for very long).

  4. I write about it in my poetry or fantasize till I either act on it or realize it's best left behind.  Scruples play a part in my decision.

  5. My urge is to answer "I take an aspirin!" ...but this is Philo.... So,

I take deep breaths and I agree with Dragon.  I lie down and try to really empty my head.  If I succeed, passions take me over!! :))

  6. ...appease my voice and succumb to the temptations..

  7. I don't fight it.  I let it take me down into it's depth until I reach the bottom.  Once there, I look around, seeing that the barren chasm isn't as enormous or endless as it first seems.  I grab the rope of purpose that's left hanging over the side, slowly climbing back into the sun.  When I get back out, the chasm usually is nothing more than a minor crack in the sidewalk of Life.

  8. Hang-gliding.

Get away  from the ground into the outside emptiness up there and suddenly internal emptiness becomes a lot less pressing.

It's like, balancing pressures or something.
