What do you do to freshen your house? to make it smell nice?

Use your favorite scented air freshener and burn your favorite scented candles and don't let anyone smoke in your home.

I agree with cindy lu. The best way is to have a clean home. It is difficult to have a fresh smelling carpet though if it is old. I do not have carpet in my home except for the bedrooms. Everything else is laminate flooring or tile,this way I can wash the floors and KNOW they are clean. Rugs and throw rugs are washed . If you have something like a swiffer dry mop, attach a small thin towel to it and spray with cleaner wipe down your walls every couple of weeks. This really makes a difference. Once the house is clean, go over everything after you get home from work...wipe down sinks and bathrooms sweep floors and just de-clutter. Once a week take your trash cans outside, fill about 1/2 full with water and add floor cleaner, let soak and use a toilet brush ( one only for this use) and scrub out the cans, this will eliminate trash can odors. Clean out cupboards under sinks regularly and reorganize. You'd be amazed at what accumulates in there!   I do not use air fresheners or any plug-in type products because of asthma .

rub vanilla extract on your electric bulbs. the heat of the bulb melts the vanilla , smells great.

Vacuum & use Febreeze

Spread carpet deoderizer, and let it soak on the carpet for an hour.  Then vaccum it up.  Burn some scent candles.  Leave those gel deoderizers around the corners of your house.  Spray Lysol disinfectant around the house.. which works real well.  Make sure to open your windows all while doing this so as to get some good ventilation in your house.  After you're done, you can go ahead and close them up.  Doing all of this should leave your house smelling pretty.  Hope this helps!

I have Febreze plug-ins, vanilla scented candles, and burn some really good incense.

sprinkle baking soda on the rugs before I vacuum.  Open the windows.  Use bleach to clean yucky places.  Use drops of vanilla essence to clean out coffee maker.

firstly every thing has to have a place and every thing should have a purpose. that means no clutter!! once everything is organized its really easy to get everything clean and fresh. can mop and sweep behind and under everything u no? i find just once its neat and clean and mopped probably with a fresh smelling disinfectantant that does the trick. if u want to waste money u can also use febreze. i say waste cuz it is really but maybe its worth it in a way. wood should be polished and sheets, curtains and cushions washed and dries in the sun. ...clean smells clean! for an extra lil sum'n candles and incense. again there are febreze scents...=)
