I saw from one of your other questions, you live in NC. Go to the right side where it says Screen Actors Guild agents, go to NC and you can see good talent agents.

You basically get a headshot size 8 by 10. Go to a photography place and ask them for a 8 by 10 headshot in color and one in black and white. You write a cover letter. The site tells you how to do this. Make a resume which the site tells you how to do also. You put all your experience and training and everything. Like school plays and acting camps and stuff. You mail it all to the agent if they want you  they will call you in and interview. Agents help get you jobs they also get 10% of what you get while acting.
