What do you do to have power when it come to punching?

  1. if you work on proper technique your punches will get harder over time. more important than just raw power is the technique you use when punching and speed. Rather than landing one hard punch if you can land 10 fast punches you will be much better off.


  2. Power is derived from the rotation of the hips when throwing punches in boxing. It is almost like a chain reaction, your power comes from bending your knees, then twisting the hips, and then rotating with the punch.

    Therefore I suggest really working on punching technique when shadowboxing, try to use a lot of hip rotation with your punches, particularly the Cross, Hooks, and Uppercuts. To build punching power, I suggest hitting the heavy bag or lifting lighter weights (like 25-30 max.) with 15-30 reps to build up muscle strength.

  4. all about balance,all the great punchers got their weight behind the punch. i don't think its something you can learn its something your born with

    if its something you can learn then why don't we see more big hitters,you can learn to hit harder but how many pros's can deliver the big punch
