What do you do to save money in these financial hard times?

I am sure there must be small things that people do in there homes to save money. From changing the light bulbs to energy saving bulbs, to using coupons at the store. I hope this leads into a thread that will give money saving ideas in these financial hard times.

It makes more sense to shop at a place like Walmart since they are a department store & grocery store...One_Stop_Shopping

I started to grow an indoor Herb Garden so I don't have to buy as many Herbs....after all, They Do Cost About $3.50 Per Herb....

Look online for " Free Shipping" to get what you can = Less Traveling By Car.

Mix Tofu with as much as I can to cut down on the cost of food. For example, 1/2 lb Extra Lean Ground Beef + 1/2 lb Extra Firm Tofu = 1 lb Meatloafl

Get into Walking in your area ...then walk to the store & back with your Daybag whenever possible...again less trips with the car...

Get into the habit of using the Bus System as often as you can...

I'm car pooling now.

I cook alot more ( gawd, I hate that one)

keep the air conditioner on a higher temp

I don't use lights unless I  have to.

I now turn off my computer when I am finish with it.

I changed daycares to the one next to my job so that my husband can drop my child and myself off on his way to work. (only using one vehicle)

I dont see the point of coupons yet. I just buy only generic Publix items and that always saves money and my time.

I attempted to grow my own garden but I apparenly have a black thumb.

I cut back on my meat intake Also, Turkey is very affordable and last all week not to mention healthy

I buy Country time pink lemonaide instead of fruit juice and my child drinks water now and likes it since there is no option for juice.
