Feeling a little jaded?

Tired and low on energy.

What do you do when your motivation slips out of the back door?

I am feeling a little fed up at the moment and I have a lot of work to do to get my new business launched in a few short weeks.

I am suffering all round.

My complexion and my moods and my sleep pattern and I am just wondering what you do when this sort of thing happens to you, so I can do the same and see if it helps me too!

I am usually optimistic and always see the silver lining of a dark cloud. I am usually motivated and people say this too me. They are always impressed by how motivated I am and I am strong in character.

I gave up smoking and other things so I know I am strong.

I have faced danger head on.

I am waffling now so I will leave you to tell me what you do when you are down to cheer yourself up and motivate yourself once again.

Thanks

  1. When I am feeling in a similar mood, I try meditation, positive thinking (i.e. tell yourself things will work out great, your business will be really successful etc...) If this doesn't help then I exercise in the morning, never at night it wakes you up. Also I have used those Kalms herbal tablets they get you calmer, and into a natural sleep rhythm.

I hope this helps  Good luck with it all ;-)

  2. I feel like this when I have been burning the candle at both ends.  A little serious sleep and good food instead of instant junk does wonders for me.  And a bright sunny day is even better for motivating me.

  3. To be honest I smoke dope!

  4. I eat!

    A lot!

  5. One answer: music.

  6. listen to something upbeat like prodigy...its not gonna turn your life around though

  7. m********e vigourously

  8. Once i get really depressed, there's a side of me that goes into what i like to call "Dark Mode" - i can literally feel the hate towards humanity pulsing through my body when i get like that.

It's the kind of thing which makes me revel in the idea of doing things to others that could be considered criminal, or even downright Psychotic.

As you said though, there is a silver lining of every dark cloud.

90% of the time, i am that silver lining essentially, but the remaining 10% i'm overwhelmed by negativity to the point of which i'll put myself through h**l just for fun.

Nothing a little meditation doesn't take care of, though.

Regardless of the impossible blackness that i know exists deep within my soul, i still possess the overriding capacity provided to me thanks to years (perhaps even decades...) of practicing mental and physical control over myself.

I could never allow myself to hurt another human being, or even an animal for that matter - the days of my foolish, evil youth are gone forever, banished even.

When i feel depressed, i remind myself that this is one inner battle i've already fought and won.

Although it might take me a short while to remember that.

  9. Well, when I feel like this I take a step back from my work and go out and get some exercise. I love the water and a quick dip in the sea really refreshes my mind. However, its not good to avoid work all together and wallow in your tiredness so designate  a few hours (about 2-4) to working and ONLY working. Don't do anything else. Its really hard but I find its the only way to get myself out of a slump. Once that designated time is up treat yourself to something you really enjoy. When you go to bed leave your work behind. Make your room a completely relaxing zone. Its easier said then done but if you were able to give up the cigarettes you'll be able to get yourself out of this. It happens to everyone! Good luck.

  10. You must take some time away from your work. You will get exhausted and burnt out. Even it it is going for a movie or to the park

or spend a day at home if you enjoy that, don't work though.

It always helps me to get plenty of sleep, go to bed at a reasonable hour like 9:30 or 10 even though you feel like keeping going, you will feel better. Also drink no less than 8 glasses of water everyday. Good luck.

  11. the start of your question sounded like an advertisement for some medication of some sort... :)

i know it sounds so unbelievably boring (and i don't actually do it, but i have in the past and it works...) but eat healthy foods and exercise! if you eat healthily you'll be able to exercise rather than feeling sluggish, and if you exercise you can sleep early and get your eight hours and you'll feel completely different! even just a bit of exercise cuz it sounds like you don't really have the time for alot...
