  1. take all the junk out of your car and over inflate you tires a few lbs

  2. Don't fill the tank.  Run between a quarter and a half.

Avoid braking.  Leave space behind the car in front of you so you won't stop suddenly.  Don't start the engine until you are ready to get in gear and go.

  3. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/f*g/drive.sht...

but main thing for me was to check tire pressure but this site has other tips.

  4. Hypermiling:

Overinflate tires, strip car of extra weight (seats weigh a ton), and draft, if you feel confident enough (basically tailgating to decrease wind resistance. it's pretty dangerous).

Also, if you've got a full hybrid car, you can (I think it's called) pulse and glide. Accelerate to 40MPH, then ease off the gas until the EV system turns on and you coast for free for a while.

Drive without brakes. Well, not necessarily /without/, but using less.

Look far ahead, if a light turns red, immediately take your foot off the gas. Avoid coming to a full stop at all times (ease the brakes on at a light early, waiting for it to change).

When it rains, ride the ridge. Most cars are driven in the middle of the road, creating shallow ruts in the pavement. These fill with water and create drag. So, instead, drive a little closer to the edge of the road, on the 'ridge'.

  5. get a fuel saving chip and all the other stuff that will give you a gas saver go on ebay and type in gas saver!

  6. I tell you what honey, the best way to save gas other than not going anywhere has got something to do with the way you drive, not as much so how far you drive.

    IT's CALLED HYPERMILING

    Check it out!

  7. keep the tires inflated properly.
