What do you do w hen you try to close/cancel credit card account several times?

And the credit card company doesn't close the account. Even though they say they have.

It has been over 2 months and several attempts, contact via email, phone, and in person. They have even said that it is closed.

What do you do?

  1. Closing a credit card account (assuming no balance) should be done in writing (on paper).  But even if your balance is zero, that just sort of puts it in limbo for awhile.  If any further charges that you authorized come in it is reopened.  So you have to make sure that you have stopped any automatic payments that draw from that card.


  2. Why do you think that the account is still open?  I takes some time to send out final statements etc
