my co worker wont stop talking to me. and right now i just don't feel like talking about every little thing shes done recently.... god help me

  1. stop being such a good listener - you know, just stop showing like you care. eventually hopefully she'll get the hint.

    try to ignore or avoid her.

  3. i would let her know that your really not in the mood to talk right now! plain simple and to the point!

  4. Tell her you have lots of work that has to be done today..and doesn't she have work as well?

    And don't stop working when she starts talking.  

    Pretend you have to make a phone call.

    Promise to take a coffee break and you can talk then.

  6. I simply keep working and limit my responses to one or two words if any. They eventually get the hint that it's time to work now and will either get busy or go find someone else to talk to.

  7. Been there!  I usually do what some others have said, such as continuing to work and limiting my responses.  If she gets too out of hand, or that doesn't work, maybe try letting her know, gently, that you really can't spend as much time as you'd like talking with her, just because you have so much work to do.
