RECYCLED PAPER

If my poem falls in the wood

and no one hears it…

Who will lift it from the paper

and give it a voice,

As it travels along in the breeze

searching for ears unstrained,

Will a listener have a change of heart,

will an army lay down its arms,

I think not, having forgotten

not all things named have been perceived.

  1. Poems have changed the world, even when spoken as prose: "Ask not... "

    One never knows.

  2. Spot on.

  3. Paper recycled serves a use. A poem reworked often shines.  Sometimes though you just need to leave.  Maybe the next generation will understand.

  4. "Hi!",

    Good morning too you!

Who needs paper when you have word doc. Or you can always scribe it in Stone like the Ancient civilizations. LOL.

    Lovely poem.

    WELL DONE!

    Cheers : )

  5. watch a terry gilliam movie. very creative and makes you think. helps with plot.

  6. OK TD all you need to do is keep a copy around, make sure it is seen! Seriously loved this poem, had to really think about the message being told! It was sad in a poetic way, to think a great message could be lost, the meaning wasn't! Cheers!

  7. A profound thought - that everything written - needs a reader - to give it a voice and meaning. It is a two way street, my friend. Well said ♥

  8. Words have the power to revive and transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. (yours certainly do TD!)

The processing of trees to make paper then the discarding and reuse of the paper means the tree lives on. The fact we put chemicals on it (again) to write degrades the paper, yet empowers it with the words written upon it. Think of it as nature and science in connection with the human factor making it happen.

Write to connect. Nature to science, science to minds, minds to other minds and hearts. Look at the purpose and method in a different light and maybe the bleak will unbleak

(Using PCs with electrical energy for the same purpose? I have to really think about the comparison.....maybe another time.)

  9. As I have learned, you never know who you will touch with words and ideas.  Words can change hearts, worlds.  Would that we had more pens than swords.
