I think I have OCD..therefore I tend to obsess over certain things. At this moment I am concerned about the stablity of my living situtaions.I am only 17 and my parents are divorced.I live with my dad and while we live in nice houses....we dont live there for long. And I would never live with my mom again. Long horrific story on her.

I am tired of moving houses and I am in constant fear that we will move again. I already support myslef on with any saved money I have...but that doesnt fix my family's situation. My mom wants nothing to do with my dad. I am always scared that we will lose the things we gain...b/c that has happened before.

Anyways...I dont want this to be all about me.I just want to know how you cope with fear.Experiences are gladly appreciated.Thank you.

  1. find something that is uniquely yours and no one can take it away, poetry, reading, sports... For me it is biking, i know no matter what happens i can always hop on my bike and ride.

  2. One phrase that keeps popping in front of me is:

"The Will of God will not lead you where the Grace of God cannot keep you"

I agree with first poster, find something that is just yours - writing, reading, seweing, gardening, whatever it is that cannot be taken away from you and dedicate a few minutes of each day doing that one thing.  "Do one thing every day that makes you happy".  It sounds like yours is not the optimal living situation - hopefully you'll be in college soon and your unstable living situation will change for the better allowing you to gain some solid footing.

Another thing I can tell you, from experience, is that God doesn't give us more than we can handle and everything that happens to us happens for a reason.  And sometimes we don't know what those reasons are, but there are reasons for everything.  Trust that God is lookin' out for you and find that cetain something that's just yours and do it at least once a day.   If you need an interested ear, here's my email address:  hgykat54@verizon.net.

Take care OK?  Something good will come from all that you're going through.  Promise.

  3. Whenever I am in fear about a certain situation, I simply pray over it and try to overlook it.

    It helps me alot!!

    Phil 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
