What do you do when someone is shot?

How do you help slow bleeding? When someone is stabbed you have the wound facing up but with a gun wouldnt it run through the victim?

apply pressure to the wound.usually the bullet doesn't go all the way thru the person..if its the leg or arm you should slow down the blood flow by tying a rope, or belt above the wound

Well it depends on the where the person was shot and the caliber of the bullet.  Lets say you walk upon someone who has been shot.  First you make sure the scene is secure, no need for two victims...You look directly at someone and tell them to call 911 or what ever you use in your area, point at them and say YOU call, people get stupid at these times and need to be directed firmly.  You will see and entrance wound and with help you can roll the victim and see if there is and exit wound.  Take what ever even your hand if nothing is around and apply direct pressure, now if this is a chest wound things could be more difficult to handle with a sucking chest wound.  Hopefully EMS would arrive quick and you reassuring the person, talk to them this is more important than you think and applying direct pressure will help.

finish him off, do the job properly. NO just joking. Apply pressure to the wound to stop the blood. avoid dirt getting into the wound.keep talking to them and keep them calm. Call an ambulance as soon as possible.

It depends on what part of the body the bullet penetrated. You should look for and entrance wound and an exit wound. the exit wound will be much larger than the entrance wound. Apply direct pressure to the wound with what ever you have at hand. get med. help as soon as possible. treat for shock by raising the victims legs and keeping him warm. a tourniquet should be used as a last resort.
