What do you do when the court overpays a garnishment?

I lost a suit filed by a landlord who lied. The judge reconsidered his decision and lowered my damages. The dishonest landlord refused my requests to make payments, and filed for a garnishment ini the original amount, which was paid by my employer. I don't know how to pursue this, but I need my money!

  1. contact the agency that took the money and prove  to them there was an overpayment and u will get the money back. I overpaid the IRS and had a garnishment but I proved to them the over payment and got my money back quick.

I had check numbers, dates written, dates deposited by them, the approving bank, the approval numbers.

  2. You need to head down to the courthouse (Circuit Clerk's office, I believe) and make sure that the judge's "reconsideration" made it into your file.

If it did, then gripe at the Circuit Clerk about it until they fix it.

If it did not, then someone in the judge's office needs to be griped at.
