the guy behind you starts flashing his headlights so that you speed up and go faster.

I actually slow down and do not let them pass. Some people just need to a little... correction!

  1. Keep the speed limit. Change lanes if it is safe.

  2. I just drive the the once time I had a guy behind me do this it turn out to be a cop a then I got pulled over for speeding

So I don't speed up or slow down anymore

  3. Just keep your speed they will pass.

You not letting them pass will take the agression to the next level.

Situation:  Now that you are going a slower 55 and the other driver is going slower 55 a driver coming up on you both going 70(the speed limit)and not paying attention slids into you and the other driver and all three of you get to have fun in the ditch because you didn't have enough patiance to keep your present speed of 68

    Goodluck

  4. just let them pass they might have a emergency .. also gangs around here do that ..if you don't let them by it is a sign of disrespect and have been know to shoot in to cars .

  5. move over they are usually drunk and do not want to get rear ended.

  6. I do the same as you lol!

  7. When people do that to me, I take it as a sign they want to pass me. I get closer to the shoulder of the road so they can pass. If I continue to let them stay behind me they'll probably cause an accident.

  8. I agree. Only if you are going the speed limit. If your driving below it,then get the h**l out of the way.

  9. With so much road rage going on, I for one would just pull over and let them pass. Yes it does grate on my nerves but I am not psychic. Maybe there is a very good reason the driver behind is being so rude and obnoxious. For all I know, his wife is having a baby in the back seat or his mom is in the hospital and he doesn't know if he will make it on time to see her one last time.

You never know when the guy will be a total psycho either. Maybe he has a gun. Is it really worth finding out?

  10. Nobody's ever done that to me....

  11. I just keep going the way I was going, because if he wants to pass, he can...and he should be patient and wait. That's how accidents happen...impatient and absent minded people.

  12. Maintain you r speed and let them fume.  If they keep up the harassment, call 911 and report a ongoing road rage incident.

  13. I have never had that happen to me before. Most people where I live just tailgate. But if someone did flash their lights at me I would move over if possible. If I'm not able to get over without speeding up I would just continue driving as if I don't see them. I always drive the speed limit or a little over and I don't hog the left lane. If that is not fast enough for them than too bad!!!

  14. If you are in the left hand lane on an interstate, you are supposed to move over so they can pass. The left hand lane on interstates in the U.S. is for passing ONLY and not traveling. I'm not sure about secondary highways and other roads but I know for sure on interstates it is. I live in Illinois and there are signs on interstates that state "slower traffic keep right". A lot of people do not know this, but it is a law in many states. I know it is annoying when people do this behind you but this is the reason they do it. Next time just move over when you can, let them fly by you and hopefully the police will catch them speeding.

  15. so irritating i slow down or let them over take but it infuriates me when they go slower than i was ! some people just arent mature enough to be driving arghhhh

  16. I ignore people like that.  No use speeding up or slowing down...it just gets both parties aggrevated, and there's enough of that on the road.

  17. Depends on if you're following proper driving etiquette.

In the real world, a very significant percentage of drivers (perhaps even a majority) speed in some way or another. If you're hogging up the fast lane of the road (which is actually a passing lane), then the driver has every right to signal to you to pull to the right and let him pass.

    That is simple driving etiquette.

When I drive on the left lane and see someone coming, I merge to the right to let them pass and merge back.

  18. if it happens frequently maybe something is wrong that he sees and you don't or you are continuously driving too slow for the roads.  At a passing lane pull over a bit and let them go by.  Angering another driver isn't such a good idea.   If it only happenned once , let the idiot go by you don';t want to get to know him any better.  A rule I gave to children I've helped raise:  avoid the ....heads.
