OK. so my BEST friend has been throwing up lately after she has been eating. I know that it is not just because she feels sick to...she will go to the bathroom and run the water and i can hear her throwing up after she eats a big meal. It hurts me so much to see her doing this to herself...ecspecially because one of our really good friends as well suffered from an eating disorder just not bulimia...she even went to the hospital..this was way back in 6th grade though now we are 18yrs old. Me and my current friend who is suffering with bulimia work at the same work place...and we had our break and ate our meal than she disappeared for awhile..i thought just maybe i would find her in the bathroom and sure enough there she was in there pukeing..i have tried to approach her once but she said she just didnt feel good and went on talking about other **** she is dealing with in her life to change the subject...i dont know what to do about it!!!!!!!!????!! HELP.

  1. Be sensitive. listen to the other stuff going on in her life. That is the stuff that often causes eating disorders. If you really want to help educate yourself about what she is going through. Be a supportive, good listener, and good friend. Don't make her feel judged or bad about what she is doing. Just let her know you are concerned and care about her. Here's a great site for you http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publicati...

    Good Luck

  2. try to be a good friend and be supportive

maybe talk about bulimia and tell her how bad it is

    that people damage their bodies

    some even die from it

tell her how much you care about her

and you want her to be around for a long time and be your friend

    take care

  3. Talk to her Mother if she is still in the picture. If not then talk to another adult that she knows and respects. A teacher, a boss, a neighbour. A website isn't the answer. Go find a real person who can support her. And support her yourself. Talk to her about life, love, family. Why is she so sad?
