What do you do when you get upset to take your mind off things?

What are good ways of relaxing and getting away from depressing thoughts? Recently with school starting I've been getting really stressed and depressed, and I don't want to confide in any one cause I don't want to be a burden.

Any suggestions of good relaxing activities, or ways I can clear my head?

  1. My current way: my dog, my iPod and the track. Otherwise, reading a book or going out to the movies. Anything to distract you and keep you busy. You could also write a journal to work out what is depressing you. However, at some point you will probably need to confide in someone to help you out... like a best buddy? Believe me, that's not being a burden... a friend wants to help out a friend. You know you would lend an ear to someone who was stressed/depressed.


  2. focus on the inside of your eyes and the peripheral outside at the same time and focus on the air going into your nose and your chest expanding and think of all the things your grateful for

    letting anger out doesn't cause relief it will just cause consistency  

  3. Yoga or mediation. Exercise is a good stress reliever also.

    You really should let someone know how you're feeling. I'm sure it wouldn't burden them. Stress is a natural part of life. If you keep feeling depressed, please talk with someone about it.

  5. I do things I enjoy doing like surfing the web, I turn on my favorite music and jam away, I go hang out around friends and family to clear my mind...do something that interest you and when you are feeling like you are getting depress stop and count to 20 and start thinking happy thoughts!
