What do you do when your daughter (or you) are going to a school formal and your date arrives 2 hours early?

Such as, he knew he was supposed to come at 6pm. He is her (your) boyfriend and he has been told a lot. But he chooses on his own accord while your daughter(or you) are getting ready to come dressed and ready at the door around 4:30/5pm and then also feels he should rush you.

If you are a parent or guardian reading this, what do you do?

If you are a girl in HS reading this, what do you do?

A similar situation happened to my niece recently and I am curious how you would handle it.

  1. If this were my daughters boyfriend, I would just ask him to sit in the living room.  He spends lots of time at our house, so I am use to him always being here.  Under normal circumstances, I would probably ask the date to return in a few hours.

  2. haha wow i am a girl in HS so i would be like your way early and ask him if he wants to wait on me for 2 hours or go home and come back? sorry no boy is going to rush me when its something formal!

but i would rather him be early then late!

  3. I guess ask if he would prefer to wait for 2 hours or come back later.

  4. I'd sit him down in front of the TV with some soda. Dang that would really p**s me off. I hate to be rushed when I'm getting ready to go somewhere nice.

    Great question though! :]
