What do you do when your dog catches a cold?

I think my dog, who is a 1 year old Pekingese, caught a cold. She keeps sneezing and she threw up today. What do I do?

  1. Clean up the puke right away, but if it is in an area in which she lies down a lot...make sure you use a hot cloth and soap to clean it so the poor thing won't be sitting/eating in chemicals from carpet cleaner or what not.

    the best thing you can do is give her A LOT of attention even though she may act like she doesn't want it because she feels bad.  Pet her a lot and say sweet things to her.  TLC...that'll work!


  2. Keep an eye on her. If she starts acting lethargic and the vomiting (and runs?) persists, then she needs to see a vet.  

  3. You can treat a dog with almost anything a human can take. I have a pekingese and she get cold. Give her some chicken soup to drink, and a cold pill. Sometimes I have a left over antibiotic from going to the doctor, you can give that to her too.
