..and then they pretend that they didn't get a rent check & then they tell you that you have to leave??Also what if you had to pay about 3,000.00 extra because of their negligence??And then they ignore you & say "It's not their Problem"?Also...there's no phone,no mailbox,no air conditioning/Heating,no fridge (for 21/2 months) & then when you finally get another one-It breaks down right after you buy 200.00 worth of food {that was the 2nd time}.Had to buy window air conditioners(3) also & cell phone & minutes for 3 months,etc...

  1. well, of those amenities you listed only heat and a fridge normally come with an apartment. I have never heard of a landlord supplying a telephone and a mailbox and air conditioning are far from required amenities so you're being extremely unrealistic there. That's why post office boxes and air conditioning units exist. And you ALWAYS have to hook up your own phone and pay for it if you want one. Why on earth would you expect your landlord to pay your cell phone or cell phone bill when they aren't even responsible for your land line bill or installation...

I don't know what the 3,000 for negligence is since you didn't say.

And if you didn't pay your rent with a check and get a receipt with the check number on it so you can prove you paid then you are a moron.

As for your fridge going out unfortunately life happens. Why did you move into a place without a working fridge? The 200 in food unfortunately is not going to be reimbursable. You could have moved it somewhere else when your realized the fridge wasn't working. Its sad that the new fridge didn't work and it would be the landlords responsibility to replace it which it sounds like they did do.

It doesn't sound like you live in the greatest place but it also doesn't sound like they are the greatest, most informed, or most responsible tenant either so maybe you leaving would be best for everyone.

  2. Take them to housing court, all cities have them. also, with hold the rent till repairs are done. you do this legally by opening an escrow account but first go to housing court and file a complaint.
