What do you do when your wireless Gamecube remote switches channels?

I accidentally clicked the little gear on the bottom of my remote a few spaces to the left, I have tried switching it back to the exact spot but it is still not working. The light on the receiver that is plugged into the Gamecube is not lit up anymore.

How do I switch them both back onto the same channel?

Make sure the receiver has the same channel as the remote try putting it on 7 for both. Get a new set of batteries and reset your gamecube. If all fails something could really be wrong with your remote or gamecube.

Try putting it on whatever channel you want (probably 1). Make sure the little box that plugs into the controller port is also set to the same channel. Then turn your GC off and then back on.
