What do you do with Yahoo points?

I just started yahoo answers. But what do you do with the points?

that was something i wondered myself when i first started. the answer is nothing. its just a big global game

Nothing. Just get more and more of them so you can play more on here answering more questions and rating others' answers. Can't trade them if for money, that's for sure!!

points are virtually useless.  they mark where you are at in the Yahoo Answers heirarchy.  it can be used as a tool to filter out wrong answers.

every once in a while, yahoo will give out a free gift, and people who have more points have access to better gifts.  but that doesnt happen too often.

Simply let them accumulate...

they are a gauge that indicates your progress on Y!A.

The number of points you attain determines which level

you've achieved (Level 1-7).

Nothing. All they do is give you more "rights" in this forum. You can answer and ask more questions the more points you earn...

Points are to motivate you to answer questions in the best way possible. There is no prize for getting more points but it gives me personal satisfaction.

The higher the level, the more you are allowed to contribute to this site. Everytime you move up a level you are allowed to ask more questions and you are allowed to vote and answer more questions too. Although if you are level 5+ (5000 points) then you can ask, and answer as may questions as you like!

There are seven levels in total, each level brings more privileges, and you can particiapte on this site more

On level 1 you are allowed to ask 5 questions a day, answer 20 and vote 20 times

On level 2 you are allowed to ask 10 questions a day, answer 40 and vote 40 times and the rating function kicks in!

On level 3 you are allowed to ask 15 questions a day, answer 60 and vote 60 times

On level 4 you are allowed to ask 20 questions a day, answer 80 and vote 80 times

Level 5 and above- You are allowed to ask and answer unlimited times a day

You can also vote a grand total of 100 times!
