My son got one with his volcom board shorts. We know it's for surfing, but being inlanders, we don't know exactly what one would do with it.

  1. When you surf, you put wax on a surfboard to help you so you don't slip off. The wax is like a crayon material, and builds up when you wax your board. The wax comb you got has the comb side, and scraper sides. The comb is to roughen up the wax when it gets too smooth, and the scraper is to scrape off the wax when you want to take the wax off for any reason (e.g. put new, fresh wax on).

The fin key tool is for removing the fins on a surfboard. Some boards come with a fin system, meaning the fins are removable. The fin key is pretty much a screwdriver. It lets s***w the fins in or out of the board.

This came with your board shorts because pretty much everyone that surfs needs a wax comb, and if you have a specific type of removable fins, you need a fin key.

  2. Scratch the surface of the wax on your surfboard and adjust the fins on your board, that is if you surf.

  3. The wax comb is used to rough up your wax buildup when you don't want to add more wax before surfing.  Usually the back of the comb is sharp and can be used to strip off the old wax when it heats up a little.

The fin key is use to loosen or remove your fin if you want to move it or put in a new fin.
