Lets say you are in a queue in a post office or in a bank and there are 4 or 5 people in front of you and you notice someone is hanging around and keeps moving to the front of the queue then moves away, then moves back again and then moves in again but this time they push in front of the person at the front, should that person object to that or just keep quiet,or should you object to them or to a member of staff, who doesn't want to get involved in case the other person turns violent or pulls out a knife or gun?

  1. I say, in more or less these exact words, "Aren't you meant to be at the back? Then get there."

Then again, I am English and queueing is just a way of life for us...

  2. I always speak up no matter where I am in the queue. I politely say "Excuse me, but the end of the line is back there. We've all been waiting a very long time here."

  3. You say "Excuse me" and give them the coldest meanest look you have, then you step back in front of them.  I live in a place where everybody is so "nice", nobody wants to hurt feelings even if they are the ones being wronged. It makes me want to hurl sometimes, I am from the south and we strongly believe in being nice but you don't take c**p from people, or wait maybe that's just me, whatever.

  4. I say we draw and quarter them!

Seriously, if they had jumped in front of me, I would have politely said "Oh, I was next", other than that, I would talk to a staff member.

  5. If the person steps in front of you it would be appropriate to say something like, "Excuse me, but I believe you've taken my turn."  You have to wait to see what the pushy person does.  Hopefully, he/she will take his/her proper place in the queue.  Queue jumpers have a very special place in h**l where someone is always jumping ahead of them.

  6. If you are in a hurry and cannot wait for the rude queue jumper to be served, just politely remind them that you were next in line.  eg. "Excuse me, I think I was next in line."

But if you have time to spare, just let them go ahead of you.
