Question:

What do you eat for breakfast?

Ok, they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but what should it consist of? I have no idea what to eat for breakfast. I tried almost everything, from chocolate to oatmeal, fruits and vegetables, but nothing makes me happy. Ok, I can eat a plum or cheese, but I am going to be hungry in an hour! And of course oatmeal is good, but eventually it makes you fat, and agree that it is sooo boring!!! I am also craving stuff like croissants in the morning, but I have a feeling that if I satisfy my desire every time it is not going to end well.

So, here is the question: "What should I eat for breakfast to make it healthy, tasty and full??". Suggestions welcome.

  1. i eat oatmeal with a banana and egg whites


  2. My breakfast:

    -two pieces of multi-grain toast with egg whites and sliced carrots piled on top

    -an apple (the vitamin C helps absorb the iron from the bread and eggs)

    -a good cup of Irish Breakfast tea

  3. leftover meat from last nites dinner sliced on a peice of bread.

    BTW Jelly has NO  fat to begin with!  You should eat what you like if croissants are what you really want the AM is the time to be eating them ! so you can work it off during the course of the day.  If you deprive yourself of things you like entirely you will consume a lot of them sooner or later causing weight gain. If you are a highly energetic person it is very possible that you need some more forms of protein in the morning, be it meats or peanut butter  Don't  know if your a trendy vegan or vegetarian.  Try some whole wheat toast and other whole wheat products they stay with you longer because it takes the body longer to break them down and you feel less hungry sooner.

  5. I have tried all the diets but the fiber diet is the real appetite killer, be careful how much you eat because it really kills your appetite. You have to eat fiber and i mix wheat bran with plain yogurt or reg yogurt in oatmeal however you must eat at least 37 grams fiber. It takes a while to incorporate the fiber in your diet so be patient. study it first.

    I am 73 years old and i know every time you eat sugar it insures that you will want more sugar because it activated to much insulin. all the sugar you pancreas can use is 1/4 of a  candy bar at one time. 1/2 glass of juice. Learn food combining, Drink a lot of water. your weight divided by 32 will tell you how much water to drink, good luck.  There is a freedom therapy called Gary Craig EFT he has a web site check it out to do with your meridians and where you emotions are stored that is also why we eat.   6. In an ideal world if you wanted to be "good" you would opt for porridge made with proper oats....

    You can add any chopped fruit, or dried fruit for more variety and taste. Or what about seeded, granary or wholemeal bread toasted with something on it that you like.

    Things like banana are very good it gives you a feeling of fullness. You could have fruit and yogurt. If you go for a cereal then opt for the healthier ones.

    A small helping of wholewheat muesli not the Alpen type, but one with whole oats, chunky nuts and proper dried fruit. Don't have a huge bowl full as it is high calorie. A small helping with skimmed milk. You can even soak in over night if you want to. Either in skimmed milk or use something like apple juice or even water.

    All bran is high fibre but does have a lot of salt in it. Shredded wheat is good as are things like oatabix or weetabix. Both of those and Shredded wheat can be spruced up with any fruit or berry's, dried fruit etc. You then get more variety.


  7. Yogurt with fresh fruit. 2 slices of toast with low fat jelly. eggs. oatmeal with fruit.
